Secret Garden: Pink Alise

For this week’s #TripleSlayFashion series I’m collaborating with the brand Pink Alise to feature their pleaded scuba midi skirt! As you all know, one of my favorite garments to wear are skirts. I have a serious skirt addiction. In my closet I have nearly 3 dozen skirts!  My skirts come in diverse colors, lengths, fabrics, and styles! My skirts range in: color (from neon pink to cobalt blue), length (from mini to maxi), and fabrication (from sweater to sued). Skirts are my go to article of clothing to wear because I just love styling them; you can dress skirts up for an intimate date with bae or dress skirts down for a quick bite to eat with the girl squad. I have worn countless skirts in my life, so when I say that I’ve found my -ultimate, favorite, must-have skirt for the spring, it’s a BIG deal!

Generally speaking, you do not hear the words classy and statement piece used in the same sentence to describe clothing, but that’s exactly what this Pink Alise pleaded scuba midi skirt brings to your wardrobe.  From the color to the texture, the skirt is simply stunning! Let’s start with the details of this skirt. The skirt is made of a vibrant aqua blue scuba material with a dove grey floral lace overlay. It features a thick elastic waist band with wide box pleats throughout. Pictures, will never do justice to the design elements and beauty of this skirt. Next, let’s talk about the material. I am deeply in love with the scuba style material. The material is thick, light weight, and soft. Simply put, it’s glorious. It’s the material that you will have every person you come into contact with feel it! I went to the airport with my niece and at least 10 people stopped me to admire my skirt. I had total strangers feeling my skirt!

For the first look in the series, I wanted to keep the style classic and sophisticated, but in true Society of Harlow fashion, not predictable. I wanted to add a punch of color to the vibrant aqua blue skirt. I went with a neon coral colored button down shirt. To add texture to the look, I added a woven straw material clutch with coral colored piping. To complete the look I styled with my favorite camel colored pointy toe heels to tie back in with the straw clutch. I LOVE the styling of this look because it is so versatile. I could wear this look to work [#GirlBoss], brunch [#BrunchBabe], church [#ChurchFlow], or dinner [#FeedMe]! I have so many plans to style my Pink Alise skirt throughout the entire year – spring, summer, winter, and fall!

Fit Note: This skirt would be perfect for extended plus sizes as the elastic band and material offers stretch. I personaly think a 1x could fit sizes 1x/2x; 2x could fit sizes 2x/3x, and 3x could fit sizes 3x/4x.

The creative direction behind this look was inspired by the essence of spring – florals, growth, and vibrant hues and tones. I truly imagined myself getting lost in a secret garden where I twirled in my Pink Alise skirt and took a moment to unplug from life to stop and smell the roses. This state of mind reminds me of my favorite quote – “Not all those who wander are lost”.
