Emeline, A Boutique Experience

Emeline

Nestled in the heartbeat of Charleston’s historic district, Emeline captivates its guests with its luxurious charm, wondrous hospitality, and invigorating interiors. Emeline is not just another hotel stay, it’s an experience for all of your senses. I immersed myself in Emeline’s exhilarating sights, sounds, bites, and smells.

Like most of the world, I was in desperate need of a getaway. I jumped on the opportunity to come to Charleston for the first time.  For nearly three days, Emeline was my home away from home. #Hosted. As you could imagine, there was so much beauty to take in from Charleston and Emeline. This post is all about my favorite Emeline elements: 1) The Ambiance  2) The Attention to Details 3) The Accommodations

The Ambiance

Escape into the world of Emeline and allow your senses to be captured.  From the moment you arrive and enter through the historic doorway of 181 Church Street your voyage awaits you. Immediately, your sights are set on the breathtaking fusion of mid-century-modern aesthetics. Hues of teal, marigold, green, and mahogany bounces off the bright and crisp white spaces. Yes, you will be captivated by the luxurious interiors and textures of the hotel, but the true sensory win is the SMELL! OMG, Emeline’s signature scent is so dreamy. The Keep Shop,  Emeline’s luxury retail experience sells the signature scent candle and room mist; I bought both!

First, you’ll into Emeline’s vibrant living room/lobby area. This space is filled with eclectic readings, plush seating, a massive statement wall tapestry, and colossal lighting fixtures.  Next, you’ll walk up the grand steps to gaze the extended mid-century front check-in desk and spiral staircase.

Now, let’s wake up your taste-buds with Emeline’s great bites and sips! One of the stars is  Clerks Coffee,  Emeline’s in-house charismatic coffee shop.  From coffee to kombucha and avocado toast to pancakes, Clerks is everything you need for your breakfast and lunch needs. As you circle around the split-level lobby area you’ll find Frannie & The Fox, a wood-fire eatery with delicious sharables and state-of-the art signature cocktails. I definitely indulged and had a mojito at every meal! Trust me on this, my recommendations are the beef and pork meatballs, fennel sausage pizza, and to top it off with a slice of chocolate cake and olive oil gelato.

Simply put, Emeline is a vibe. The greatest vibe is in your room. As you enter the doors to your very own private, luxurious, and clean oasis it will truly leave you speechless. I loved everything about my suite, from the teal plush upholstered headboard to the massive soaker tub. After a 5 hour drive from Atlanta, the gigantic king size bed was exactly what I needed. The floor to ceiling windows, provided me with the  perfect sunrise and sunset views of the iconic Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge. To top off the mid-century vibes, each room is equipped with a record player and records. I belted out my favorite Adele tunes at the top of my lungs!

In essence, Emeline understands the the power of ambiance. They set themselves apart from any other hotel because every single sense is awakened.

The Attention To Details

Find luxury in the little things and elegance in the grand gestures, Emeline exudes these sentiments in every way. The details matter. Honestly, Emeline’s exceptional hospitality made me realize the inadequacy of my previous hotel stays. From the moment you arrive at the massive sleek black doors at 181 Church Street you are greeted by concierge with open arms. Your presence is not only welcomed, but celebrated! Your bags are wisked away with care to the front desk. As you walk through the expansive lobby, you feel like charmed-royalty. Post check-in,  each guest has the option to partake in a non-alcoholic or alcoholic; of course I took the cocktail!

It was fascinating to discover all of the hidden gems of luxury across the hotel. Here were some of my favorite extra touches of details: 1) I LOVE sparkling water. Each floor comes equipped with a still water and sparkling water station. You are provided with chic glass and chrome reusable water bottles. 2) Covid precautions. There were sanitizer stations at each elevator landing and every guest and employee wore masks inside. 3) The decor. From brass fixtures to vibrant green couches, everything was luxurious and vibrant. 4) The record player. Each room comes with a record player. It is an exceptional detail that continues to immerse you into the mid-century-modern vibes. 5) The signature beach cruiser bikes. The bikes were a perfect way to explore the city. 6) A handwritten notes from Emeline tean and a gift box full of macaroons.

The Accommodations

From my initial hellos to my final good byes, there was never a moment that I didn’t experience top-notch guest care. As a first-timer in Charleston, I had a million and one questions and asks for recommendations. Every staff member was extremely knowledgeable about the hotel and  the city of Charleston. From dinner reservations at Frannie & The Fox to local happenings, I was satisfied  with my  accommodations.
